John Moeller is the owner of The Greenfield Restaurant and State of Affairs Catering, both located in Lancaster, Pa. He is also a former White House chef, cooking meals for Presidents George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton, and George W. Bush.
After attending culinary school and working at various restaurants, John left to spend a couple of years in France learning French cooking. He returned to the U.S. and worked in Washington, D.C., where he was introduced to Pierre Chambrin, then the Executive Chef at the White House. They wanted an American trained in French cooking, and John just happened to fill that need exactly, and was hired soon after. Thus began a 13-year stint at the White House, where he served world leaders exceptional food through the good times and the bad.
After those 13 years were up, John returned to Lancaster, where he wrote his bestselling book Dining at the White House, and started his State of Affairs catering business. Come join us as we learn the insights into the life of a premier American chef.
