Lew Klein, Philadelphia television broadcast pioneer who served as Executive Producer of American Bandstand, died at age 91. Mr. Klein taught broadcasting at Temple University for 67 years, where the university’s communications school bears his name. In addition, Mr. Klein produced Phillies baseball television broadcasts for 15 years, and he was a driving force behind Captain Noah and the Action News format at 6ABC in Philadelphia. He was married to Janet Klein for six decades, and had two children, Ellen and Stephen.
