The House was in session this week, and passed a bill calling for a moratorium on the closure of two state centers for persons with intellectual disabilities. Also, the House amended and passed a bill that would make the use of hand-held cell phones a secondary offenses, meaning another violation would have to occur first for a driver to be charged. The bill also made texting while driving a secondary offense. Currently, it’s a primary offense, meaning a police officer can pull over a drive they see texting while driving. Mental health has been the topic of several press conferences lately, with Gov. Tom Wolf issuing a plan to remove the stigma from seeking care and making sure that services and insurance coverage are available. Ours guests this week are: Robb Hanrahan, Anchor with CBS21 Harrisburg and host of ‘Face the State,’ Justin Sweitzer, State Government Reporter, with The PLS Reporter, and Cody Carlson, Capitol Reporter with Lilly Broadcasting.
