Nov. 19: Authority of Nurse Practitioners with American Assoc. of Nurse Practitioners

When you make an appointment with the doctor's office, you may be given the choice of being seen by a nurse practitioner or a doctor.   Most patients have an understanding that the doctor supervises the nurse practitioner.  David Hebert, CEO of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, talks about legislation that allows an NP to practice without that supervision being part of an official agreement.  But the PA Medical Association wants doctors to stay in charge of patients' treatment.  On The Issues with David Hebert airs November 19 at 8pm on cable and the PCN Select streaming service.
