A "heartbeat" bill bans abortion when a fetal heartbeat is detected. The bill's main sponsors, Senator Doug Mastriano and Rep. Stephanie Borowicz, say they're taking on the landmark U.S. Supreme Court ruling of 1973, Roe v. Wade, that legalized abortion. Mastriano says, "We turn our backs on the most vulnerable ... and let them be massacred in the womb." Medical doctors say a ban on abortion at this stage is in effect almost a total ban on abortion, since many women don't know they're pregnant at about six weeks in, when a fetal heartbeat can be detected. On The Issues with Sen. Doug Mastriano airs November 12 at 8pm on cable and the PCN Select streaming service.
