Gov. Tom Wolf recently signed an executive order calling on Pennsylvania to join the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI), which calls for carbon taxes and reductions in emissions in the future, but Pennsylvania is an energy-producing state, erecting the first oil well, and has a strong coal mining and natural gas industry, but those forms of energy all emitting various levels of carbon when burned. Energy companies are pushing back against any additional environmental regulations saying they slow the permit process and make energy more expensive to produce. To discuss environmental regulations are Rachel Gleason, Executive Director of the PA Coal Alliance; and Rob Altenberg, Director of the Energy Center with PennFuture.
