We’re about six weeks from the budget deadline, with revenue collections ahead of estimates by $828 million, enticing Republicans to call for deposits in the state’s Rainy Day Fund. A bill banning abortions after a Down’s syndrome diagnosis passed the House after a long debate this week. Viral comments posted on social media by House members drew a bipartisan call from House leaders reminding members to engage in a civil discourse on the issues. Also, Attorney General Josh Shapiro joined other states to sue the manufacturers of OxyContin seeking compensation for opioid-related drug deaths. Those issues and more will be discussed by this week’s guests: Ed Mahon, a reporter with PA Post, Tony Romeo, Harrisburg Bureau Chief with KYW Radio; and Chris Comisac, Bureau Chief of Capitolwire. Our host is Larry Kaspar.
