8.14.16 Ron CastilleRonald Castille served on the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania from 1994 to 2014, and was Chief Justice from 2008 to 2014. He stepped down from the court in 2014 after reaching the mandatory retirement age of 70. He was first elected to the court as a Republican in a partisan election in 1993. Castille was retained in 2003 and 2013.

He was the District Attorney of the City of Philadelphia from 1986 until 1991 and is a member of the Republican Party.

He is also an amputee, having lost his right leg to enemy gunfire while serving as a Marine platoon commander during the Vietnam War.
