Description
Bob Casey was elected to the US Senate in 2006. Prior to that, he served as Pennsylvania Auditor General from 1997 to 2005 and as Pennsylvania Treasurer from 2005 to 2007.
Among his accomplishments, Sen. Casey was the prime Senate sponsor of landmark legislation (ABELE Act) allowing millions of families across the United States to save for the long term care of their loved ones with a disability in a tax-advantage savings account. Sen. Casey passed the Campus Sexual Violence Elimination Act, and he led the effort to pass into law the Emergency Medical Services for Children Reauthorization Act of 2014, reauthorizing a program that helps improve emergency medical care for children and teens.
In 2018, Casey became the first Democrat in Pennsylvania history to be elected to a third consecutive U.S. Senate term.
