Lacy was born and raised in the hills of Bloomsburg, PA, but the people there would remember her as Jill Byrem. She didn't become Lacy Dalton for many years to come. Prior to donning the stage name, she was raised into a family of musicians, which spurred her creative and musical spirits. She criss-crossed the country before finding herself in Santa Cruz, California. Tragedy struck, as her first husband passed away, and she found herself waiting tables to support her child. A few years passed, and her friends helped her record a demo. CBS found her, signed her, and Lacy J. Dalton was born. Thus began a highly successful recording career spanning more than a decade, with more than her fair share of hits. If you are a fan of country music, you owe it to yourself to hear the stories of one of the great country singers of the 80's.
