In advance of his budget address on Tuesday, Feb. 5, Gov. Tom Wolf’s held a press conference highlighting his plan to increase the minimum wage from $7.25 an hour to $12 by July. Legislative approval is required to exceed the federally mandated minimum wage last increased in 2009. Lt. Gov. John Fetterman is going around the state holding recreational marijuana legalization forums. Rep. Brian Ellis made news this week when sexual misconduct allegations from a 2015 incident surfaced, leading to calls for his resignation. Past sexual misconduct allegations against Sen. Daylin Leach also resurfaced this week. He is accused by someone he knew in 1991. A bill to deny pensions to retired legislators or staff who commit certain public trust felonies during their tenure cleared a Senate committee. To discuss these issues and more are Jan Murphy, State Government & Education Policy Reporter with PennLive & The Patriot-News; Chris Comisac, Bureau Chief with Capitolwire.com; and Angela Couloumbis, State Government Reporter with the Philadelphia Inquirer. Our host is Brian Lockman.
