Celebrate Women’s History Month on PCN
By Assistant Producer Kes Baker
March celebrates women across the world, and here at PCN, we wanted to shine a spotlight on the amazing women here in Pennsylvania -- both past and present. Themes throughout the month include women in politics, the military, the fight for women’s right to vote, authors, and other stand-out Pennsylvania women.
I wanted to bring some new programming as well as showcase past programs we’ve done, with historical figures like Alice Paul all the way to the leaders in the current PA House and Senate.
The two new programs created for Women’s History Month celebration are panels with female legislators. The first panel, Women in Politics, features PA Senators Bartollota and Cappelletti and Representatives Kreuger and Pickett speaking about their experiences in the legislature and the importance of having women in politics. The second panel, Women in Leadership and Politics, features PA Senate Majority Leader Kim Ward and PA House Democratic Leader Representative Joanna McClinton speaking on the importance of women in leadership and in politics.
PCN’s Women’s History Month airs Sundays in March at 9:00 AM.
