(VIDEO) Steve Javie was a top rated official in the NBA for 25 years from 1986-2001. A graduate of Temple University, he started his officiating career as a Minor League baseball umpire and PIAA referee after a short stint as a minor league baseball player. Javie officiated over 1,700 games, including 23 in the NBA Finals

(VIDEO) Porfirio Barrera: Author of “When Winning Hurts” an autobiographical look at the the 1991 Philadelphia Public League Championship season of the George Washington High School football team. The book tells the story of the team’s up and down season both on and off the field. Barrera was a star TE and DE for the Washington Eagles during their championship run.
Sonny Hill is a former basketball player and announcer as well as current executive advisor to the Philadelphia 76ers. Some of Hill’s life accomplishments include the foundation of the Baker League in 1960 for pro basketball players to compete in the off-season. Hill is also well-known for his youth basketball league involving players from middle school through college which has been in operation since 1968. In 2008, Hill was honored with the Mannie Jackson Basketball Human Spirit Award by the Basketball Hall of Fame.
