PA Book Festival visits the Harrisburg Book Festival

PCN’s PA Book Festival is at the Harrisburg Book Festival at the Midtown Scholar from November 9th through 11th. In addition to a huge book sale, the Scholar’s festivities will include keynote talks from famous authors, lectures, performances, children’s activities, and more. Everything is free and open the the public, so if you’re in the area, please stop by!

We’re excited to partner with the Midtown Scholar for several events throughout the weekend. On Friday night, we’ll open the festival with a wine and cheese reception at 6pm, followed by a live audience taping of “PA Books.” Then we’ll sponsor additional author appearances on Saturday and Sunday. Can’t make it to Harrisburg? Don’t fret. We’ll bring you live web streams of author talks throughout the weekend.

Schedule of events includes:
November 9th
6pm – Free wine and cheese Opening Reception featuring Hudson Cattell and Linda Jones McKee, authors of “Pennsylvania Wine: A History”
7pm – “PA Books” taping with a live studio audience, featuring Hudson Cattell and Linda Jones McKee discussing “Pennsylvania Wine: A History”

November 10th
3pm – Keynote talk from The New York Times’ veteran columnist George Vecsey, author of last year’s “Stan Musial: An American Life,” and other national bestselling books.
5pm - Talk by author Scott Mingus
7pm - Talk by Shippensburg University’s Prof. Susan Rimby

November 11th
4pm – Keynote talk from John Grogan, bestselling author of “Marley and Me.”
6pm – Keynote talk from Philadelphia Daily News columnist John Baer, author of “On the Front Lines of Pennsylvania Politics”
7pm – Keynote talk by William Ecenbarger, Pulitzer Prize and George Polk award–winning investigative journalist for the Philadelphia Inquirer
