February 4: PA Budget

John Baer, of the Philadelphia Daily News, and Brad Bumsted, of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, discuss what’s expected when Gov. Tom Corbett makes his budget address on February 5th.  Anticipated topics include education and transportation funding, as well as initiatives to privatize the PA Lottery and state liquor stores.

    I took a cut in pay when I quit my retail job to become a state worker so I would have a good retirement. Now, gov Corbett wants to take our retirement plan to force us in to 401k plan. Our health benefits have already been reduced. What reason will there be for someone to become a state worker in the future?

    for the past years the state has not put anything into the state retirement fund. Now they have to start paying they want to @##$%%^ the state employees. The employees have always kept up their end. 75% of the money that is in the fund was never put in by the state. Pay raises and other benefits were givan up to retain the retirement and now they also want that!
