JOB TITLE:  Assistant Producer

OVERVIEW:

The employee is responsible for producing various projects as assigned by PCN.  This hourly position can expect to work approximately 42 hours/ week.  This job requires an understanding of politics and the legislative process, good writing/ research skills, and as an understanding of live television production.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Producer

·         Conceptualize the program for production.

·         Attend various meetings.

·         Identify the most appropriate subjects and/or guests.

·         Coordinate production logistics and guest schedules

·         Expected to research and prepare on-air hosts for various productions. 

·         Identify appropriate venues.

·         Work with host/emcee.

·         Indentify appropriate materials to be utilized in the production (including charts, graphs, video, etc.).

·         Oversee implementation of aforementioned materials into the execution of actual production.

·         Oversee post-production/editing.

·         Organize schedule of production.

·         Responsible for various projects, as assigned by a Supervising Producer.

 

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED:

Ability to use spreadsheets, word processing, databases, internet and other computer-related skills required.  Working knowledge of social media (including but not limited to Facebook and Twitter) a plus.  Long periods of time sitting and typing are required. Must be available to work a flexible schedule.  Employee must be able to work independently, be on time, and be properly dressed.

 

RELATIONSHIPS:

Creating and maintaining relationships with the entities that PCN covers.  Communicating internally and externally with what is needed for each production, including interaction with a technical crew.  Work with Assignment Editor and Supervising Producers for staffing and scheduling of production for on-air.

 

Position is part of the PCN Programming Department and reports to the Director of Programming.

JOB TITLE:             Director of Strategic Partnerships

DEPARTMENT:       Business Development

STATUS:                  Exempt

REPORTS TO:        VP Marketing and Brand Development

GENERAL FUNCTION:  Raise money to assist PCN in its public service mission while maintaining network principles and standards. Coordinate with Programming Department to develop content-generating partnerships. Manage operations and budget of the Business Development Department. Work in cooperation with other executive managers to carry out company procedures and priorities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop strategic partnership program with the purpose of further diversifying revenue streams and increasing revenue for PCN.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with businesses, state agencies, and other potential partners in order to present available PCN underwriting options.
  • Design underwriting campaigns and prepare presentations for potential partners.
  • Work with partners and Programming Department to select appropriate on-air recognition of their support for PCN.
  • Work with Programming Department to develop television programming that is of interest to potential partners while adhering to PCN’s philosophy of neutrality and non-partisanship.
  • Work with Programming, Finance, and Operations Departments to assure that terms of all partnership contracts are understood and followed.
  • Submit proof-of-performance to underwriting clients as requested.
  • Provide on-going status reports to president and controller.
  • Represent the company at public forums; serve on volunteer committees and boards that further the interest of the company without compromising its nonpartisanship.
  • Other duties as assigned.

BACKGROUND/SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Radio and TV Journalism, Political Science or related field.
  • Minimum six years related work experience.
  • Demonstrated strong knowledge and interest in public affairs, politics, and news.
  • Strong understanding of company programming and philosophy.
  • Excellent communications and teambuilding skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Strong organizational, grammatical, writing and spelling skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership and decision-making experience.
  • Ability to work as a team leader and team member within strict time constraints.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and consistently perform in a highly detailed environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral form.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with computers, databases, and the Internet.
  • Flexibility to work varied schedules.

JOB TITLE:           Digital Content Manager

DEPARTMENT:     Marketing

STATUS:                Exempt

REPORTS TO:      VP Marketing and Brand Development

GENERAL FUNCTION: Manage PCN on line content. Establish PCN brand in style and voice consistent with company principles. Provide support for PCN e-commerce initiatives and marketing objectives. Provide training and assistance to PCN staff as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage content on pcntv.com and social media on a daily basis
  • Maintain social media networking
  • Manage e-commerce products to support multiple platforms
  • Re-direct digital assets as needed
  • Train and support PCN Staff as needed
  • Technical assistance during live events
  • Contact with hosting partner
  • Other duties as assigned

BACKGROUND/SKILLS

  • Demonstrated experience with web and digital media web display and development, social media outlets and marketing.
  • Demonstrated understanding of WordPress and web-based content management systems
  • Experience with e-commerce products and technologies.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to communicate effectively.
  • Strong understanding of company programming and philosophy
  • Ability to work flexible hours and adapt to changing priorities
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and consistently perform in a highly detailed environment
